Understanding Mobility Demand
Accurate knowledge of mobility demand is essential for building reliable and efficient predictive models. We operate with a structured approach that allows us to analyze user behavior, understand territorial needs, and translate collected data into operational tools useful for planning. Mobility flow surveys form the technical basis for defining coherent intervention strategies, evaluating the performance of existing networks, and predicting the impacts generated by urban and infrastructural transformations. Through established methodologies and advanced technologies, we collect objective data that enable administrations to make informed decisions, improve service efficiency, and optimize investments.
Vehicle and Pedestrian Flow Surveys
We conduct mobility flow surveys using advanced solutions for monitoring vehicular and pedestrian traffic. We use video recording systems capable of automatically counting vehicles at signalized intersections, roundabouts, urban and suburban road axes, and highway sections. The extracted information includes traffic volumes, vehicle classification, average speeds, temporal and spatial spacing, and safety indicators useful for more in-depth analyses.
In addition to vehicles, we also survey pedestrian and bicycle flows, essential for studying high-density movement areas and nodes characterized by interaction between different user categories. These analyses allow us to identify critical issues, assess the quality of the active mobility network, and support targeted interventions for safety, travel fluidity, and public space usability.
Public Transport Monitoring
We also support administrations in public transport monitoring activities, which are essential for understanding real demand and optimizing the service. We organize and coordinate campaigns dedicated to detecting user loads along lines and at major stops, identifying levels of crowding, variations in time slots, and operational issues.
When necessary, we integrate monitoring with onboard interviews to gather additional information about travel, travel motivations, user habits, and their needs. This combination of quantitative and qualitative data provides a complete picture of the system’s functioning and supports service programming, identification of intervention priorities, and development of scenarios for enhancing local public transport.
