Plan for the Elimination of Architectural Barriers in Rocca Priora

Context and objectives

We have been commissioned by the Municipality of Rocca Priora to draft the Plan for the Elimination of Architectural Barriers (PEBA), as required by Regional Law 74/1989 and subsequent amendments. The aim is to guide the administration towards universal accessibility. Furthermore, the plan aims to improve the quality of public spaces and ensure more equitable access to urban services.

Activities carried out

Activities included defining areas of intervention and identifying public buildings and strategic urban spaces. In addition, architectural barriers were mapped and a list of design solutions was drawn up.

At the same time, we have launched a participatory process involving citizens and associations. This has enabled us to gather reports, priorities and suggestions, promoting a more transparent and shared process. In addition, an economic estimate of the interventions, organised by sections and integrable into municipal planning, completed the operational framework.

Indicators and tools

Various indicators and methodological tools have been defined to guide the administration towards measurable and sustainable choices. Therefore, the process is consistent with public planning standards.

Results and impacts

The work has enabled Rocca Priora to implement a plan aimed at improving accessibility. Furthermore, the process was developed using a data-driven and participatory approach, in full compliance with regulatory provisions. As a result, the municipality now has the foundations in place to launch concrete urban regeneration projects and strengthen its commitment to social inclusion and mobility for all.
