Furthermore, the work ensured consistency with the current regulatory and planning framework.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Preliminary analysis and reconstruction of demand<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Activities included analysing previous studies and the approved PUMS. The programme and planning structure has also been reconstructed using open data. We developed a four-stage multimodal simulation model based on telephone data to reconstruct mobility demand and estimate the effects of the new infrastructure on the municipal area and neighbouring municipalities.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Evaluation of alternatives and cost-benefit analysis<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We conducted model analyses to compare the various design alternatives, producing numerical and graphical outputs to support the cost-benefit analysis. Furthermore, all assessments were carried out in accordance with the standards of the Ministry of Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility. An assessment was also carried out to optimise the local public transport network connected to the future tram line, in order to maximise its effectiveness and sustainability.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Final results and decision support<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The assignment concluded with the drafting of the methodological and technical report linked to the PFTE. As a result, the contracting authority now has a robust and validated tool to support its decisions.
